Cuba Irene Aloha 18791972 Wright 9781361666319 Books
Written by a woman who lived for 10 years of "interrupted residence" in Cuba during the early 20th century, this is a fascinating story of her observations on the history, culture, and social life of the country. Ms. Wright is perceptive, tries to be objective, and provides not only general impressions, but some statistical information about places which she has visited. She writes well and tells interesting stories about her travels. The book is interesting in its own right, but is also an important read on Cuban culture of one hundred years ago. Unfortunately, the photos did not always reproduce well. Thus, the four stars instead of five!Product details
